Elaine Sharplin is Professor of Education at Graduate School of Education, Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan, and has for over 30 years been commitment to and advocated for social justice through education. Elaine served as VPA’s Inaugural Chair and is a founding member of the VPA Charity. Her career has focused on issues of disadvantage, specifically for those located in rural and remote areas. This work has intersected with indigeneity, poverty and gender in Australia and internationally. Elaine is proud to advance the ideals of Violence Prevention Australia, seeking to proactively prevent family violence through education.
